Feeling apart of the community

My family and I moved here in June, we had been planning the move for quite some time. My husband’s mother grew up here on a farm. Having the idea to be farmers my husband thought it would be wonderful to farm the land his grandfather and uncle farmed. So here we are. I have to say having the idea that we wanted to live here- and I mean for a long while if not permanently we wanted to make sure that we became part of the community. I wont go on and on about all the details but I have to say we have been welcomed. I stopped in at Sprouts one day and met C.J. the owner and while talking with her she invited me to come along with her to one of the Farmers’ Market meetings, now I am involved in the Farmers’ Market. Having a place like Sprouts in our little town is wonderful, plus a woman like C.J. as the owner. She really cares not only about Pine City, but about buying locally. Then I was invited by our City Planner Nathan Johnson to come to a meeting about the Horizon’s program and now I am involved in this program. Nathan really cares so much about Pine City and it’s residents we are really lucky to have such a wonderful person working for this city. I was also invited to join the Downtown Leadership Group where I met Rick Herzog. A couple of weeks ago my husband and I went out for some pizza, which we do not do very often. When we arrived at Pizza Pub we saw that they had this pizza buffet so we ordered it. I saw Rick off in the distance and decided to go give him a hard time, I was asking when the dessert pizza would be out. He looked at me said he would see what he could do and went back into the kitchen. I went and sat down and a few minutes later the server came out with this big bowl of ice cream with hot fudge and cookies around the edge. We have only been here for 9 months or so and we really feel as though we are apart of this community. Of course these are only a few of the people who we have met and who have become a part of our lives, there is really too many to mention. We really feel lucky to have moved to such a wonderful little town:)

It’s great to hear about how welcoming Pine City is. That speaks so highly about a community. Thanks for the insight!

    Awww, Jennifer… You’re so sweet!

Pine City is even more rockin’ a place with you living here.

Jennifer – I really want to say thank you for sharing your “welcoming” experience as a new resident. I think another huge thanks needs to go out to CJ, Nathan and Rick – and others who made Jennifer feel welcomed upon arriving in Pine City. I hear from a lot of people and not everyone feels like thy get that same experience. It’s too bad that they all don’t meeting CJ, Nathan or Rick on first arriving in PC.
